This policy explains the cookies and browser storage used by Online CSC Wala. We keep the essential footprint small, and optional analytics or advertising scripts load only after you explicitly allow them.
1. Cookies and local storage
Cookies are small files a website places on your device. Local storage is a similar browser feature that keeps data until it is cleared. We use both. Some are required for the site to work; others are optional and controlled by you.
2. Your choice
On your first visit, a consent banner asks whether you allow analytics and advertising cookies. You can:
- Accept all — enables optional analytics and advertising.
- Essential only — keeps the site working and blocks optional scripts.
- Manage choices — turn analytics and advertising on or off separately.
Your choice is stored in your browser as cscwala_consent_v1. It is not sent to our servers. You can reopen the banner at any time from the “Cookie settings” link in the footer or the button below. Withdrawing consent stops optional scripts from loading on future pages, but it does not automatically delete cookies a third party already set; use your browser's site-data controls for that.
3. What we store
- Strictly necessary: authentication session cookies from Supabase when you sign in (so you stay signed in), plus security and load-balancing cookies from our hosting provider. Local storage also holds your theme choice (
theme), saved bookmarks (cscwala-bookmarks), the PWA banner dismissal (pwa-banner-dismissed) and your consent record. - Analytics (optional): if configured and allowed, Google Analytics 4 sets cookies such as
_gaand_ga_*to measure page views and approximate geography. We use aggregate reports only. - Advertising (optional): if configured and allowed, Google AdSense or a direct sponsor may set cookies to limit repetition and measure performance. Google may use these for personalised ads; you can control that separately in Google Ads Settings.
4. Third-party services
Optional scripts are provided by Google (Analytics and AdSense) and load only after consent. Our authentication and database provider is Supabase. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Browser controls
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential storage may break sign-in, bookmarks or the theme switcher. Most browsers also offer a private or incognito mode that clears local storage when you close the window.
6. Changes to this policy
If we add a new category of cookie, we will update this page and, where required, ask for your consent again. The effective date is shown at the top of this page.
